Nora Gilchrist is a mixed media artist and art educator based in Western Massachusetts. Her subject matter has a few recurring threads: portraiture (most often women who inspire her), portals, plants, clouds, chairs, eyes, and sources of light. She tends to work intuitively, resulting in works that are dreamy, glowy, somewhat surreal or otherworldly. She hopes her work evokes connections between the seen and the unseen, and relationships between past/present/future. She is passionate about encouraging people to utilize their gifts of creativity, which she believes we are all endowed with.
